Sony Ericsson Xperia Active has been delayed in the UK until September 30.
That’s according to Play.com, which has pushed back the smartphone’s shipping date from mid-September until the end of the month. Still, the site has also opened up its pre-orders for the Xperia Active, which’ll cost you £239.99 SIM free. There’s not yet any word on subsidized pricing, but we’ve been in touch with the UK networks for further information.
As its name suggests, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is aimed at those with an active lifestyle, coming with an on-screen heart rate monitor and a bunch of fitness-focused apps. Like Motorola’s ‘life-proof’ Defy, the Active has also been designed to withstand the elements, boasting resistance against water, dust and scratches. There’s also some innovative tech onboard dubbed ‘Wet Finger Tracking’, which means you can still operating the touchscreen if your hands are wet.
It’s not all about the Xperia Active life-proof smarts, as it also doubles-up as a top-notch Android smartphone. Expect to see; Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), a 1GHz processor, a 3-inch (320 x 480) display, a 5 megapixel HD shooter, and up to 32GB of expandable memory.
